There's a joint up in the San Gabriel Valley..Montrose maybe, that we just keep missing. Maybe in a few weeks. It's called Zacks or Zekes, not sure but I have a map in my truck.
For the last few decades, we've pretty much held that Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ, up in Van Nuys, is the best in LA. If you're into Texas style Q, the Doc''s is even known in Tyler Texas for being great. Man... I'm workiing late and starving now.
You sound like a good candidate to participate in Meat Week.

"Meat Week" looks like it was awesome!
In August, we did a family reunion with a BBQ theme: we went to the week-long BBQ cook off in Sparks NV. Of 24 cookers, we ate ribs, brisket and beans from 20 in the two days we were there. http://www.nuggetribcookoff.com/ If that sounds like a lot of Q is was, but it was excellent. When we got back to SoCal, we went to Baby Blues on the way home to San Diego. Those fellas in Georgia look like they've got a good thing going there! |

Modskin is the Meat Coordinator. I imagine that he'll let us know the dates as they draw closer, but I believe that it's supposed to be from the last something (Saturday? Sunday?) in January through the first something (Saturday? Sunday?) in February. |

I don't usually eat bbq, 'cause my lady's vegetarian. Which more or less makes me vegetarian. But I sure love the taste of good bbq. Sign me up for this meaty week, Flock of Seagulls. |

Dude, get on this. I'm driving by Montrose on Sunday, during our annual trek to the ancestral huntiing grounds for Christmas. Before I dash my brains out in Knapp Park, I need to know if we should exit and eat at Zeke's. Btw, I looked it up: http://www.zekessmokehouse.com/ two locations worries me, but heck-- we have you to test it!! |

Doooood!! You're going to Knapp Park?!! I've been wanting to go myself. Used to skate there all the time from '80 to '85. Haven't been since the late 80s. |

Well, I'm going to Hogly Wogly's, also. I think we're gonna check this one on our way up, though. |
