I'm in San Diego, but slut around. We travel around for BBQ...pretty far in some cases and always look up joints when traveling,. In terms of LA, I'd say Mr. Cecils and Philip's, both downtown as I'd call it, are pretty good but Baby Blues is the best we've found on the west side.

There's a joint up in the San Gabriel Valley..Montrose maybe, that we just keep missing. Maybe in a few weeks. It's called Zacks or Zekes, not sure but I have a map in my truck.

For the last few decades, we've pretty much held that Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ, up in Van Nuys, is the best in LA. If you're into Texas style Q, the Doc''s is even known in Tyler Texas for being great. Man... I'm workiing late and starving now.

What's up with Meat Week '08?

Modskin is the Meat Coordinator. I imagine that he'll let us know the dates as they draw closer, but I believe that it's supposed to be from the last something (Saturday? Sunday?) in January through the first something (Saturday? Sunday?) in February.

I don't usually eat bbq, 'cause my lady's vegetarian. Which more or less makes me vegetarian. But I sure love the taste of good bbq. Sign me up for this meaty week, Flock of Seagulls.

Montrose isn't that far from my house, I'll have to check out Zekes/Zacks. Montrose is also pretty close to the Glendale skatepark.

Dude, get on this. I'm driving by Montrose on Sunday, during our annual trek to the ancestral huntiing grounds for Christmas. Before I dash my brains out in Knapp Park, I need to know if we should exit and eat at Zeke's.
