is what i heard at Luby's Cafeteria last night while the wife and i ate.
typical old people's fair for sure but the food is damn tasty and a nice variety..we get our food and sit down to eat..usually some easy listening tunes to appease the usual "over 60" set of diners and then BAM..KISS blasting out the speakers?? you kidding me.
although to be fair Gene Simmons is probably pushing dinosaurs outta the way to get his AARP discount on fresh blackened fish and broccoli and cheese plate.
i know..stupid topic but i thought it was funny to hear KISS when normally Air Supply or some other soft rock would be our mealtime tunes.
how was the food you ask?(or didnt ask)...fucking delicious! |

Luby's rules, they have the best ice tea.
Fried fish, mac&cheese, throw in some fried okra and it's on!
No greens, no health, just pure fried goodness pumping through your veins.
Liver on a hangover day will do wonders. |

i actually wanted the fried fish but the server couldnt tell me how soon the next plate of fresh was coming out so i opted for some blackened fish with a fancy name(tilapia i think) and was very tasty with a big glop of tartar sauce and mac n cheese(of course )and that broccoli/cheese casserole, two big ol buttery rolls and ice tea..OH..and a lemon ice box pie for dessert..needless to say my wife had to roll me outta there on a dolly.
and not to mention KISS!! the other tunes they played as i recall was "cruel to be kind" by Nick Lowe..."lovely day" by Bill Withers and some Stevie Wonder song...i'm thinking Luby's sounds pretty good for dinner again tonight... |

KISS isnt hardcore anymore.
KISS is soft rock now.
If its too loud you're too old seems to not apply any more. |
