Man that looks like one good cheese burger!
Do you have guacamole on there? if so, I think I need one in a needle! |

No guac, I think that's just the combo of awesome jalapeno juice and mustard combining with bun dough to form its own entity. |

Only a Texas-sized nincompoop would deign to compare the two (or three if you're giving Krystal any credit whatsoever, which I don't). That's a good way to get shot in the face, mister. They're not the same creature at all.
We've stopped at the Whataburger a few times when up in Jacksonville. 4.5 and I both thought it was far too mustardy the first time around, but we solved that problem with some clever "easy on the mustard" ordering the next time.
I'd put the Whataburger in the same burger universe as Sonic and Steak 'n Shake. That particular system orbits around the Frisco Melt platter (with it's own smaller satellites of chili, cheeze fries, a chocolate malt, and a root beer).
That entire post will get you, your family and any amphibians within a 10 mile radius blown right the hell up!
Perhaps you inferred some denigration of Whataburger where none was intended. I'd still take Steak 'n Shake over Whataburger, but I think I'd probably take the WB over Sonic. I need a larger sample to be sure though. I intend to eat there after every time I skate the Atlantic Beach park in Jacksonville.
I still maintain that comparing WB and WC isn't appropriate. Even though WC is like the other three in that your burger isn't waiting for you when you arrive, Sliders are a completely separate subtype of burger.
Your post will get all your neighborhood cats shot with a fully automatic Airsoft, just like all of mine... |

TGM--When are you heading back up this way? I found a joint you might be keen on. |

I'd imagine sometime in the fall. When will you be back?
What's the place?

I've found a really delicious jalapeno yellow mustard up in Wisconsin before, but haven't ever been able to find it elsewhere. If any of you cheeseheads can hook an expatriate FIB up, I'll send you something in return... |

I should be back around October.
Ted's Montana Grill
The "Kitchen Sink" comes with bacon, ham, mushrooms, onions and a fried egg, on top of a 1/2lb Bison pattie.
I have a tough time finishing one. |

October will probably work for me just fine, although I'll need to make sure that my school schedule cooperates.
Looks good. I might switch out the mushrooms for some chili though. Perhaps some bleu cheese as well.
I had a burger a lot like that in Peru once. I can't even remember what the fuck all was on it, but I know that there was so much stuff that they actually got all the way down the list to peas and carrots. I'll scan and post a picture of it someday... |

Oh good gravy.
Ted's Montana Grill was the place that made me eat meat after 10 years of being a vegetarian.
Their chili-cheese fries with the bison chili is the best shit ever. I'm also a big fan of the Vermejo burger.. If I remember correctly, it has salsa and monterey jack on it.
Damn I miss Atlanta sometimes. We used to go to Ted's a lot. |
