mmmmmm,mmmmmm,mmmmm....you MUST be from the south. But you did leave out milk. Add a bit of milk to thin it a bit, too.

Fry sausage in a skillet, then remove the meat.
Add flour and a splash of milk to remaining grease.
Add a liberal amount of ground black pepper and a few dashes of your favorite, normal storebought hot sauce. (Crystal, Texas Pete, Frank's...etc. Gourmet hot sauces will just overshadow the whole dish. Besides, most of them are inconsistent, bitter crap.)
Whisk over medium low heat until smooth and bubbly.
Remember, you're basically making a roux. It has to be stirred constantly so it dosen't burn. If you burn it, you need to dump it in the toilet, as it will be inedible.

If you managed not to burn it, (Way to go, champ!), pour this shit over the sausage biscuits you just made, masturbate afterwards and take a nap.

They have this new thing nowadays...................
IT'S CALLED THE INTERNET!

Do a google search- "how to make a roux"........

once you master making a roux, you will be a GRAVY MASTER, which is sorta like a Jedi master, but with the Gravy Force.

My point was, making a roux is the basis for good homade gravy, when someone here says " take some grease, throw in some flour, add some milk" doesn't really teach you the proper technique, I was merely suggesting to look up a site to learn the correct way. Good homemade gravy can be a great thing, and impresses people with your culinary skills.

I have been a cook for over thirty years, and have worked in everything from greasy pizza joints to some fine gourmet houses here in Vegas casinos.

If you took offense to my previous posting, it was intended as sarcasm, not a shot at you ( see the "laughing" emoticon?).It was my intention to help you out, not insult you, so I offer you my apologies.

Dave.
