What do you guys use for base coats on decks? Paint or just print ink as a base coat? I am getting ready to get some blank decks and i wanted to get them ready for printing.

Although I haven't printed decks for a while but am preparing for it once again. I used to spray my base, however that was about 10 years ago. If your going to screen your base I assume you have a the capabilities to do so and the screens required. I know that printing the base can produce good results and bad results and will have a learning curve until you have a process down. Printing the base I believe may leave you with some decks that you will wind up having to sand down and reprint again. Good luck.

As long as the deck is sealed with a clear coat you will not need a primer at all for either process you go with.

josh -

there are several topics in this forum about this.
search dude.

anyhow, I've done both screening as well as spraying base coats.

it's better to spray in my opinon.
screening wastes way too much expensive Nazdar ink.
