With mexico we're more likely to see money come back into the US. Also they are like neighbors borrowing sugar.
China is like a neighbor borrowing your grill and selling it. |

There is no such thing as a "legit operation" in China. Unless you mean legitmately totallitarian.
I think we should pass a law that all goods coming from China should not only have to say "made in china", but that the label should contain a picture highlighting the true reality of China. If I was at my own computer and not in Tokyo right now, I`d work up an example and then someone could make tshirts again. But I am in fact in Tokyo and don`t have photoshop/illustrator at my disposal so... you`ll have to use your imagination: made in china in a semi-circle, above a rendering of that guy trying to stop the tank in tianamen square. That would be a good one.
Of course tons of american are either too clueless to know that scene, or too selfish to care, but hey, it would put a smile on my face to see that sticker on every thing coming out that country so people would know what sort of system their money is helping to prop up!
Future stickers could include images of environmetal damage, big smokestacks with black clouds, assembly line workers with their hands being cut off by machinery...and so on as an attempt to remind people that another reason their goods are cheaper is that they don`t bother to protect the environment or their workers. Heck, I`ll work up a few examples when I get back to the states and start plastering them on boxes of Chinese goods!

Mexico all the way. I refuse to support a single party communist country unless I absolutely have to. |

Canada isn't in the US, but still many woodshops are located there. I don't think this bothers too many people because A. They are close to us. and B. they have a lot better business ethics and practices as compared to China or Mexico. Still, Mexico is the obvious answer. |
