I have been wanting to mount my GoPro to the bottom of one of my boards for a long time now. The problem is that the GoPro in its housing with the mounting accessories doesn't fit under a skateboard deck. It does fit if you take the camera out of its housing and tape it directly to the bottom of the deck. I was a bit reluctant to tape my naked GoPro to the underbelly of one of my skateboards...so...I tested it out with a cheapo GoPro style video camera. $15.00 including shipping to my door!
So, over the weekend I took it to the local skatepark, taped it to the bottom of a couple boards and made a few runs with it.
I stuck it to the bottom of my Deckcrafters Killdozer for the first test run.

It seemed to work ok so I stuck it to the bottom of another deck.

Here are some frame grabs.
It needs a wider field of view but not too bad for a cheap ass POS little camera. Next time I will bring the GoPro. |

It's only marked with HD 1080P on the camera and has a 2" lcd screenl. It shipped out of California so that was one of the reasons why I went with this one. You can find them for less than fifteen bucks but they usually ship out of China or someplace far away.
Edit: Forgot to mention the super short battery life. 3 runs is all I could film. If I were more efficient I might be able to get 5-6 runs on one charge. |
