So, my daughter is turning 12 and wants an iPhone. My wife and I are grandfathered into unlimited data on At&T and we can't add a line to that. Anyone here have provider suggestions for a young kid? I know she's going to burn up data, so I'm thinking possible unlimited. Anyone in a similar position? I don't want the worst provider, where she has terrible cell service and I don't want the most expensive. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. |

I use Virgin Mobile. They are cheap, I think I pay $35 per month -- but you have to buy the phone. |

We tried trac phone with our daughter (had to buy the phone and it was like $40 a month unlimited) but then quickly realised there was no online or paper bill or any way to see what numbers were incoming/outgoing. Ended up just adding another line to our at&t. With at&t we could see what numbers she was calling/texting and what time on their website as well as setting up restrictions. We also used the 'family map' which shows approx where she is at any given time. It prob cost a little more but it was worth it for the convenience. I know you said not at&t but those might be some thing to question before you jump into another carrier/plan for her. |

I got around those problems by implanting a gps chip in my kids head.

Thanks Scs, we will look into AT&T and see price differences. Appreciate the info.

Owen, look into Crickett wireless. Only downfall is that you have to buy the iphone outright. |
