Man...This has really been a tough couple weeks, especially on my wife. Two days after we got home from our awesome "my birthday' trip to Socal we got ''the call'' from her mother...Seems her dad had gone to the laundromat after their washer had died, loaded the clothing and decided walk across the street to the package store for a sixer...While crossing he had been stricken by a car going @ 40mph...knocked him right out of his shoes and pants and down the street...Ive seen cars that hit deer that sustained less damage than this one...
His injury list reads like a book...Head trauma including a brain hemorrhage, broken neck and back vertebrae, broken collarbone, ribs and pelvis, shattered right arm and leg...etc.
He's been on the ventilator for weeks and cannot breathe completely on his own, the cat scans revealed areas of dead tissue in his brain that control involuntary movements such as breathing and heart rate, which isn't the best scenario...
He has so many different doctors attending to him that the status of his health is very up and down, which is hell for my wife to go through and equally tough on me to watch... The bone specialist says everything on his end is improving while the neurologist informs us 2 days ago that we should consider ''end of life'' preparations...
Her mother is taking the news well considering...but her mom has some mental illnesses that make processing this stuff hard. This is an all around bad case scenario,as her mother relied on her father for everything, from going out shopping to bathing and everything in between...She was scared to leave the house, and the house itself is straight out of one of those Hoarder shows...
So much for my wife and I to handle...Taking over the bill paying and gradual cleaning and repairing of the homes well as providing meals and damn near everything to her mother..My wife hasn't really had any time alone to process this as she been so busy with lawyers, doctor visits, and working from home....
So,Ive shared this on Facebook and figured I'd share it here as well..Anything you can do to help is immensely appreciated..Just a share or two is super helpful!
Here is the link to the story,I think its the same one that we came home from the hospital to see on TV the next morning...

Thanks man...Unfortunately,it looks like he'll only be around for a couple more days...Technically,he hasn't been around for two weeks.
He's unresponsive mentally, and developing a nasty case of pneumonia that medication isn't helping...
Sad situation...Dude was one of those guys that did everything, and Ive only heard a tiny fraction of his stories.
So fucked.... |

Oh yes,she stopped right away...no mention if she was found using her phone, etc.
Was not a 'hit and run'...
He's starting to open his eyes and track the nurses around the room,no speech yet as he's still on the respirator, and not really breathing on his own.
Thanks y'all |

*UPDATE*
Today information was given to my wife and her mother that it is time to start planning for his life's end...
The lawyer we have thats working on getting my wife a conservatorship is dragging feet, and we won't be needing that anymore as now its turning into an estate thing...We don't even know what assets he has, or if he had life insurance.
Likely were going to be paying for the wake and cremation ourselves if this is coming up this fast...
PLEASE keep sharing the GOFUNDME page...and please donate anything you can to help us out...I hate to sound like Im begging here.
Fuuuuuckkkkk
Every $5 helps...Really it does especially if a lot of people do the same!
Thanks again for letting me vent.
