Around here most skaters ride snowboards in the winter. Closest hill is 40 mins. Into the kootenays in 5 hours....that shit is world class!
Riding the snow, skiis or boards has always been part of winter.

Shredded both...what else would a skater do in the winter?

Skate. Winter in Australia is great for skating, nice and cool so you don't overheat. Concrete grips well after a rain wash every now and then.

I'm in the wrong country for winter skating. Most of the snow melted and I swept the bowl. I had to dodge a few puddles and some ice, but got to skate. Forecast is for more snow, so back up the hill I go:)
Gotta make the best of the situation....snowboarding sure makes sense in BC

As far as snowboarding, not being able to adjust my feet/stance as I ride, blows. Have pretty much given up snowboarding because of it. Snow skates are fun though and worth learning to ride. The ability to move my feet while riding is a must for me.
