| Anyone got a good tip on turning heelside? Something about the rigidity of the boots is fucking with me bad heelside. |

| Are your boots brand new? If so, it might just take breaking them in some more. Do your bindings have hi backs? If so, adjusting those might help too. Other than that, just keep practicing. |

| Not sure if this will help your situation or not, but worth a try, if your front binding is angled towards the nose try to lessen the angle a bit. |

is there any play between your boot toe and the binding ? If it's not tight enough, that can screw up your turn because you lose response.
Not sure about your binging, but mine have the toe cap which can be moved around toe of the boot as opposed to over the boot. It help me to move the cap around the toe. Response way better.
The other suggestions above are things you should check. |

| Thanks again guys. Finally got some functional heelside action going yesterday, just in time. I leave for Steamboat in 6 days. |

Usually heelside turns are easier, because your upper body is already facing in the direction of the turn (goofy/ regular).
But to get a heelside carve, it takes a bit more, e.g. check the forward lean of the highback and/ or lean back more, bend down a bit more...... toeside carves are easier to get into and control.
Use powder....it won't matter!

Hopefully you'll be slashin powder rather than carving groomers when you head to CO.
Healside/Fronside turns are easier to butter but carving them is something that needs to be practiced. Most of the pressure is on the back leg but don't be afraid to lean a little on the front foot as well. This is only for groom and hard pack. In the deep stuff, it's pretty much on the back leg and in the hips.
We've been getting a lot of snow in Oregon the last couple of weeks. Hopefully you get a ton of new snow while you're on your trip. |
