Im looking for new inks for printing skateboards, Ive found on http://www.standardscreen.com some water based poster inks that says it should work well on wood as well... here is the description:
SAQ inks are 100% aqueous (water) phase colors for printing on
most surfaces in addition to paper, board, wood, and other cellulose
materials. The colors are very opaque and have great hiding power.
They are supplied with a transparent base for overprinting and color
mixing. Recommended for fine art printing.
Does anyone have any input on this or have any idea if this will work good for skateboard printing? Also what mesh count should I use?
Any info would be rad,
Thanks, Paul |

Hmmm, sounds like my speedball stuff. I would like to stay with water based but they lack the gloss finish. It would be nice to find one that has both. |

Yeah I think were gonna have to go with the oil based stuff to get that nice finish. I think im just going to end up converting all to Nazdar 9700 inks... |

I think I have some of that but I am worried about clean up. Is it hard to get off the screen? I have the safe-t-wash stuff. |

just a standard xylene works well for clean up. And a higher dense mesh will be needed, I think about 250-325. |

I used 12xx with my waterbased stuff. Would that mesh be suitable for the nazdar 9700? |

Probably not, I use 110 for my speedball waterbase, and a 300 for the nazdar.
I dont know much about the monofilament mesh, But i would guess that it has to be a little more dense than that. |
