so, yes, i have searched. i've been through every thread with the word plastisol in it, and still haven't came up with an answer.
the thing is, i have an abundance of plastisol laying around, and haven't found an answer to whether or not it works well on decks.
yeah, yeah, yeah, you use nazdar, i know.
my question is: has anybody printed decks with it, and how did it work out for you?
i have a flash drier, and i doubt the heat drying will compromise the deck, so long as i'm careful. coverage, opacity, and durability are my concerns.
anyone? thanks in advance. |

if it's for display only purposes then roll with it.
if not, it will not work.
the plastisol needs to be cured to harden and will not adhere to the surface of the deck properly without being pushed down into the fibers as it would be with a garment. it'll sit on top and you will be able to rub your finger across the image and roll the print off. |

i decided to test the plastisol on a piece of untreated blank scrap anyway, and you're absolutely correct. it looked great, but i could rub it right off with my thumb. waterbased it is. that's ok, i'll just have to get some. however, the nazdar 2700 series is totally limited in colors though. i'm looking to do some almost neon type stuff. any suggestions on what's available in odd colors? |

go get some house paint.
or if fumes and using mineral spirits for clean up isn't an issue, get some rust-o-leum oil based enamel. that shit rocks.
i doubt you'll find any neon in those though. |

fumes and chemicals aren't a problem, but can you print with that shit? seems like it would be way too thin. |

note to self, if you've got a good shop setup, and can tackle most cleanups.....
Krylon. baby!
Think of it as the next evolution of stencil graffiti, using screens instead of friskit... |
