New favorite find is Ninkasi Total DominationIPA, had one called Hop Stoopid that was great too. IPAs are my favorite but are a bit rich for for more than 4 or 2 22ozers.
Just went to the Stone Brewing Co. yesterday and had a Sublimely Self Righteous Ale, 14th Anniversary Ale, Stone IPA, and Double Hopped IPA. Each were superb as was my BuffaloBurger with Beer cheese, and Citricado salad. I would have liked to have tried the BelgiqueIPA but I was really full and quite buzzed already. That's my new favorite spot. The outdoor bar and garden area is amazing. I was really suprised at all the babies and kids running around, probably because it was Father's Day. |

I had a bottle of the Cali-Belique on
Monday night as I rebuilt a hubset, cleaned a passle of skateboard bearings and gripped a few boards. It's an excellent part of that Stone line you tasted up in Escondido. Hopping is like a Levitation, but the Belgian ale yeast is very obvious in the effect it had upon the taste and aroma of the brew. Notably, this is a Stone and not some watered-down, pansy-ass version of a Belgian wit with orange rind and dried cilantro in it. It's got the arrogance. |

My uncle came down recently and brought a couple bottles of Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale, which is a Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale. Anyone had any Black IPA's worth checking out? |
