Boil water and pour it over a bag of:
Paradise Tea - Passion fruit
Mint Medley
Pomegranate White Tea
Mango Black Tea
Regular old Lipton
Then chill in the fridge

jeff, i wish i could get a constant supply over here so i had that option.
hense why, to my wife and inlaws amazement i sup it like my life depends on it when im in the us, and i bring at least a 12 pk back with me as well.
had it for sale here about 1990-91 but there was something in it with they claimed sent kids in to a hyperactive frenzy so they withdrew it or banned it or something. |

High Fructose Corn Syrup
That shit should be banned worldwide.

Cottees?
I'm sure it has plenty of sugar in it. |

personally, i dig it nice & simple
take your pitcher and fill it with as hot as you can get tap water.
add 5-6 bags of Red Rose tea(its cheap, too!)
let it steep and cool off.. usually outside in the shade
refridgerate and enjoy with nothin else(thats right, so sugar, no lemon)
tastes bomb, its easy & quick. durin the summer we go thru 1-3 pitchers a day. yum yum |

jasonflair50 wrote: this is how we do it in south carolina. to make 4 quarts of sweet ice tea, you need 3-4 family size tea bags. i like lipton or luzianne. boil water, not too much enough to fill a tea kettle is fine. pour the boiling water in the pitcher. put tea bags in pitcher and let them soak in the boiling water for for 15-20 min. remove the tea bags, mix in 1-1.5 cups of sugar. depending on how sweet you like it. fill pitcher up to the 4 quart line with cold water and mix. pour over ice with lemon if you want.
if you like it stronger, use more tea bags and let it soak longer. if you like it sweeter, use more sugar. you can use equal, saccahrin, any kind of sweetner. the sugar i use is dixie crystals.
i never made sun tea, so i dont know shit about that.
enjoy.
This is the way to go. Southern Ice Tea. It is served at every dining estblishment south of the Manson / Nixon line. And served in every home with Southern roots. |
