To help you out on MIRC and save you time, you should use a stand alone script instead of the normal Mirc to ease your pain. ex. Invision (I use this one), Excursion (Don't recommend, I heard it has a backdoor in the program), etc...
Using one of those scripts makes it ALOT easier for people in general, even Experienced MIRC users. Instead of knowing raw code to do a command or something, the script helps you out BIGTIME. You can make your Mirc experiences alot more fun without a doubt....

Invision is Mirc but with built in modifications. I actually have alot of buddies on there that get some killer stuff. I'll look for the link to Invision if it still exists. You can always go to Google and type in "Mirc scripts" and you will find a ton of scripts or stand alone scripts. You have to be very cautious about what you use script wise with Mirc. Some scripts that people use have backdoors built into them to view what you have on your PC. Kaaza def. has a backdoor, but I'm not sure about Kaaza Lite to be honest. They have scripts for Mirc where you can put your local information into it and it will load a weather forecast for your state for the next whole week everytime you open up Mirc/Invision. There are a ton of links (search databases) also you can go to that will help you find the files or the quality of the files you are after and it will actually show you where the file can be found with a rating system and it will give you a direct link to the person that has the exact file you are after. You can click on the link and it will bring you to the room that the person is in that is sharing the file. I've been trying to show my friends how to use mirc as a Chat client to find out info about Automotive restoration, but it's very hard to teach for some reason. I learned the hard way, I was unemployed for a while and just kept messing around with it until I learned the basics, from there I just learned more. Believe it or not, but Mirc is a awesome Chat utility, but alot of people use it for file sharing.... |

it definately sounds very useful...
as far as chat why don't you just use messanger or icq?
as far as file transfering i will look for the script with a google search but what do i do with the script? download it to my computer and then what? open mIRC and it will automatically work with the invsion script? what exactly do i do with the invision script?
i appreciate your time and i just want to get this nailed down...

The reason Mirc/IRC is good is because you can go to a already (Keyword ALREADY) established group of people right away and talk live without having to hunt people down and get all your questions answered live and also view others ?'s and the answers to those ?'s also.
If you got Invision, all you do is install it and put the same settings in than your normal Mirc. You can have both installed at the same time and actually be in a room twice under different names, but alot of rooms do not like people cloning, you will usually get kicked out. Send me the link to the post that you got your information from and I'll make a image with the settings in place and you can just type what I have in and as long as you have the minimum requirement (If the room has a min.) to get in the room, you should be fine.... Keep me posted.....
Edit = To be completely honest, I never used ICQ, I should give that a try and check it out...
