True, the social part is the best part.
The meat is just a bonus after all the work is done and the beer is gone. |

How much skin is there to share? Other than that, I wasn't sold after a couple years of doing them for Tgiving...lent it to a friend and left it, not thinking of my crab boils.
I'm all about the turkey bag, always tender, fast and easy...did one last night after scoring a $5 20 pound bird at Vons last week. |

Contrary to belief, deep fried turkey is not greasy. The high heat immediately sears the skin and no extra oil is absorbed. It is indeed the tasteist and most moist turkey you will ever eat. Forget about the turkey that is so dry you can choke on it. I think it takes half the time to cook over using a conventional oven.
The only drawback I can see is not having any stuffing done inside the bird. |

It's awesome. We do about 3 a year. 12 pound bird in 350 (F) degree oil for about 45 minutes. Serve with grilled Conecuh brand smoked sausages and a South Carolina style mustard based bbq sauce.
Unreal. |

a friend cooked one and did one in the oven about 5 years ago so we could compare them side by side.
Still thought the oven cooked one had a better flavor but the fried one is nice and crunchy and ads the fried chicken element to it even though it tastes much better the fried chicken.
Yum Yum for fried turkey |
