anybody know it?
cut a hole in bread with a shooter glass and place the bread atop a frying egg. take your shooter and cut out circle shapes in another peice of bread add little butter and fry them up for dipping in the hole!
the key is the bonus cut outs for dipping in the yolk!
try it out! kids love em!

Ah, Birdy-In-The-Basket!!!
I cooked those up randomly last semester when I actually woke up early.
...and my roommate loved waking up to a real cooked breakfast!
I'm also a japanese-food-nut. whenever i'm sick i eat a huge bowl of tempura udon. sure as hell beats chicken noodle!
HUH?
Never heard of that.
In the uk this is toad in the hole.

this thread deserves a bump
on nites that we would have burritos i'd often catch my mom making these after we all had eaten and left her to clean the mess
they became one of "our" things
tortilla, butter, cinnamon and sugar mix
spread the butter evenly all over the tortilla and sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar....pan fry.(or microwave)
delicious easy dessert. |

I always loved Lamb Shank Soup. Come home from school in winter and mum would have the shank out of the soup ready to eat.
Otherwise it was pasta or salmon patties.
Damn food when you were a kid was good at times. |

Crackers and milk.
This recipe spans 4 generations of Ledin men. The women have never really gotten on board.
1) Crumble saltines in a bowl,
2) Pour milk over it like cereal.
3) Eat with a spoon.
It's been a few years since I've had it, but I LOVED it when I was a kid. i think I'll eat it tonight. |

I just remembered one.
I would put 1 layer of pepperoni, or salami slices on a plate, and microwave it until they were pretty burnt.
That was a favorite after school snack for a while until my health nut mom caught me sucking orange grease off my fingers and was like "WTF?! I'll make you something good for a snack." |

my mom made hot dogs split down the middle, overloaded with mashed potaotes, and topped with a slice of government cheese.
bake until cheese is bubbly and brown, and dog is sizzling.
good times |
