dunno dude... I miss beer mucho and the n/a fills the bill aside from getting trashed

funny how your idea and one I've been kickin' round are damn near the same

I was thinking of producing a micro brew N/A for that very reason...

can almost hear the commerical...

"dont wanna look like a tool at the local watering hole... but dont want a DUI?! grab a Sierra Nevada N/A! everyone else will think you're the life of the party, but its really cause yer not DRUNK!!!!"

anyways... a few others and I think there could be a market for this...

I kinda did just that 4.5. But I would order a glass of Tonic Water, instead of the now legendary "Gin and Tonic"...in a bar setting it works ok as they usually make a shit drink anyway...AND they don't charge for a glass of tonic usually.

NA beer falls into the same category as De-Caf coffee. Why bother? It's fucking without cumming.

IF a GOOD micro NA came along, I'd be willing to try (Sierra Nevada would be a good place to start). I wouldn't drink Busch, so I'm sure as hell not gonna drink Busch NA.

But whatever gets you through the night.

I don't see the point either. Alchohol is a big part of beers flavor, at least to me. I was taking a drug once that did not allow any alchohol so I tried O'Douls and a couple others but it just wasn't the same. Like GOB said, it's like decaf coffee. Rather just drink water or Pepsi.

i haven't drank for awhile now, but i used to have a an idea for N/A beer that i never actually put into practice, but maybe one of you guys would like to try.

anyway, the idea is this.......

you know how some nights you are out drinking ALL night and at a certain point your pretty trashed but still having a good time. at this point you don't really want to stop drinking, but if you continue your gonna go TOO far and the fun will be over.

ok, maybe some of you at this point would just stop drinking, but if your like me, when your in a bar or drinking with people you kind of have to be drinking as well. ok, then this is the part where the N/A beer comes in. start rotating an N/A into your drinking at "every other round" intervals. so basically, your drunk at this point, so you won't really notice that your drinking N/A, but your drinking N/A so you not getting any drunker, hence you can hang out longer.

i don't know, it was an idea i came up with on one of those all night drinking binges with friends. i never actually tried it because i could never remember it when i was drunk, but anyway just putting it out there if anybody wants to use it.

again, i haven't drank for a few years now and do occasionally miss a beer, but i miss beer!!!! N/A is not beer. it's kind of like a reissue compared to an OG deck. it's almost the same, but something is missing.

I can't fathom NA, but know the need if you like beer taste - which I don't anymore. My longevity drinking is a gin and water...seems to give a good balance- and not put me under the table.

Tested a few. I'd say O'Doul's Amber is up front at the moment.

I asked my Grandpa once if he had tried them when they first came out in full force. His exact quote was :

"Why would I drink non-alcoholic beer? It's like Marijuana without the high!"

Poetic words from a man who maintains subscriptions to Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler and has since the 1960's....
