I think that there should be a tacit understanding that you don't talk about how much decks cost whenever someone's significant other is around. It usually isn't an issue when both people are in the same boat, but when one guy's vulnerable and the other one is solo, that's when it seems like it comes up. Talking prices when the ladies are within earshot is like asking pressing questions about behavior at bachelor parties and in back rooms of nudie bars, except more inappropriate.
