I acquired this snowboard through Tom Sims from Lonny Toft back in 1980 and rode this thing in Lake Tahoe before resorts ever allowed snowboards on any hill or slope in Nevada. I mounted the ski from the deck to the plastic snowboard for stability, because when ever we would ride in powder back then, it would flap up because of how thin it is. It's not in perfect condition (some scratches and there's only a few cracks near the back fins, but still intact) and has seen some usage. the skatedeck on top came with the board, so i believe it is a signature Lonnie toft sims model as well. We used a bungy cord for the bindings before they even invented them. I've owned this thing since then and now it's time to say good by to it:)
This is one great piece of snowboarding "history" fellas and now it's time for one of you to own it!

Stevie,
Are those golf spikes mounted on the deck for grip? Cool piece of history. |

yup, Bob Denike and Craig Ramsey help me put those on there:)
This was my idea of using those golf spikes (my dads, he was a golfer) and the clear plastic top to see the skateboard stickers underneath it and not have to use just black grip tape for the top!
Thanks Del. |

Sic! That looks just like mine—right down to the ski under the stinger (mine was a SC Stinger) and the aluminum fins. Wish I never sold mine. |

well you obviously rode it a ton by all the mods you did to it. Spikes are still cool I might add, but we use aluminum binding posts on the top deck and run the screws about 1/4 past. I've always wondered what was up with the attached ski that I've seen on others. Wish I could own it...
Some of us consider this though to be an important board in Snowskate history not snowboard. Here's a shot of the hot board for this year notice the resemblance.
