Here's a question for those of you who have skated both Santa Cruz and Sacto, if you could skate one...which one.
I figure Sacto is way bigger and Wally has gotta out build Worm, but since I also wanna surf SC has a bit of an advantage.
?
P.S. I'm all about the pool and the pipe. |

i would say sacto because of several locations available. santa cruz is a totally different vibe and one of the best places, to just be. besides if it wasn't for worm and derby park there is no telling what the evolution of skateparks would have been. if you go to santa cruz you gotta ride derby. just for the soul of skateboarding. i was in 7th grade the first time i went and i still remember the whole thing. there used to be a pool off of hiighway 101 south of SC. i wonder if its still there? anyone know? |

I've skated derby....the pool was beuna vista. I'm not sure if its still there either. That and derby was all I got to skate for a couple of years back in the 80's.
I think I'll make Sacto a priority over SC. |

I'm no surfer, but you might consider...
(1) San Francisco Potrero Del Sol Skatepark to Pacifica Skatepark, then surf across the street from the skatepark while in Pacifica. Surf spots just across the Golden Gate Bridge back in SF.
(2) San Jose Lake Cunningham Skatepark - about 1 - 1.5 hours from Santa Cruz. Unique has everything. Google some pics. Like Sacramento's Granite Skatepark only BIGGER! Less rundown then Granite.
(3) Sacramento Granite Skatepark to Natomas' Tanzanite Skatepark. About an hour outside of Sacramento is Ione's Skatepark. One of the funnest POOLS ever.
All are great choices but if only one, I'd pick Lake Cunningham.
Good luck! |
