UPDATE: SLO City Parks and Rec's Rep Christine Wallace recently sent this to sloSkatepark supporters forward list. If this didn't reach you yet, here it is ...
Here’s the deal: the skatepark is at this point a Major City Goal. However, the projection that came up from last nights’ Council meeting that in the next budget cycle, we’re $9 million in hole (we think, but the State hasn’t said what their takeaways will be yet so it could be more.) So, it is VITALLY important that we have a solid group of people attend to show support for the Master Plan and make it known that the citizens of this City want the construction of the park funded. If Council doesn’t see and hear the community, they won’t fund it. If you are unable to attend all meetings, please make a point to at least attend the Community Forum on the 15th and the Council Meeting on the 20th.
... If you live anywhere near SLO, go to school in SLO, or pass through SLO to surf, then please come to the meetings, especially the last one! Thank You!!!

Anyone reading this I'd appreciate you going to the San Luis Obispo Skatepark Facebook and clicking on 'Like' to help us get the word out. Despite the fact we've been at it for a few years and a funding gap that still remains we are motivated and stoked to get this thing in the ground! You can see pics of the design under 'Photos'.
I will gladly trade the favor and 'Like' your skatepark project. Just let me know here, PM, or email. Thanks in advance.
