FYI- Saw this on Craig's List - I don't think the market value is $1200 despite the material and labor put into it.

What'd you think is a fair offer?

Skateboard miniramp / halfpipe - $1200 (Boxborough)

Skateboard Ramp:
12' wide, 3' high, 8' flatbottom, 4' decks, 7' transitions, 24' long base/26' long at decks.
Built last fall. Needs minor repairs- one hole in the transition, plywood surface needs shimming. Covered in Thompson's water seal. Open side construction is one of a kind, allows for airflow and reduces the chance of rot. Includes 12 cinderblocks for base. Screwed together for easy disassembley. Can be transported in a full size pickup bed in about 3 trips.

I got $800 off of mine just by waiting and seeing if it expired, and then was relisted.

Truth be told it is about that much in lumber, so if you trade the condition for the labor, it's about right. Just my .02

Great responses so far.

I think the cost of the materials is one data point for what the ramp is worth - but it's not the decider.

How badly does the seller need to get rid of the ramp?

What is the market demand?

mkelty's ramp shows that the price is dictated more by market demand than materials.

Thx,

offer him nothing and build your own, it would be easier than moving that heep and then putting it back together.

There is a similar, possibly worse condition, mini ramp in Madera (CA) on craigs list for $100. Tough to move, but I am considering it.

I'd give him $100 for the canoe and build my own ramp.

that thing is not worth $500

It's small and lame to begin with and taking it apart and putting it back together will not be cheap.
