So the crew of guys I am working with sat down last night to eat a meal together after getting our first pay day for this job.
The guy in charge of picking up the food decided he would surprise us with kangaroo steaks.
They were delicious!
Kinda like dear meat, had a nice wild flavor with a texture almost exactly like beef.
If you ever get a chance to eat a little kangaroo meat, do it. |

Mmmmm 'roo steaks....very nice on the bbq, make sure you leave it a bit rare though as 'roo isn't good if well done. The local butcher does 'roo sausages, I might go get me some of them for dinner tonight. |

Actually from a sustainable ecological point of view it isnt right to eat anything else. Australia is a continent with out any native hooved animals. Dessertification has been greatly "advanced" by Hooved beasts particulalry Bovine and Ovine. Indonesian Bisson have also gone feral in Kakadu nartional park damaging significant portions of a great wetlands environment.
And the original locals have been eating Roo for 40000 years or there abouts.
Plus Wombats (aka Hairy Rocks) taste awful |

Good point, we had not eaten any Roo before so we went with medium well, next time there will be some red in them.
Seemed like they were just a hair on the tough side.
And mosu, that pesto steak sounds damn good. |
