| I know everybody will swear by the metal/galvanized pipes for coping, but what about PVC Plastic pipe? Any good to use? |

If you're on a limited budget or cant find any locally then maybe. PVC will give you those fast grinds right off the bat whereas metal usually takes a bit to work itself in. At least the conduit that I use acts that way.
Metal also allows you to stick on the coping for tricks like nosepicks and chink-chinks. I've found that on PVC you'll usually just slide out of them. |

Pvc is fine to use. Get what size works for your ramp. It may crack at some point, but it's cheap to replace. Metal will last longer, obviously.
The local skatepark here has metal coping, and when it's 100 degrees like it has been, that shit will leave blisters on your hands or whatever else might touch it. Goes well with the black skate armour they use. It's 100 outside, 130 at the skatepark.... |

It's great for breaking bones. I was doing a 50-50 on pvc when i was 16 and my board just slipped off the side, i went down and destroyed my arm with a compound fracture, bone through the skin and everything. Never liked the fact that you couldnt feel what you were doing....i still to this day head in the other direction when i see the stuff, i was actually stuck going back and forth in my basement for a week due to my plumbing  |

| I wouldn't use PVC, if you can't get metal, use 1/2 round wood molding, or stair banister ( railings ). |

wow wood coping... never thought of it before.
metal works for me as does concrete, havent actually skated any other form of coping |
