Yeah, the moniker is ghey, but who did you guys like (if any) from this era?

Swingin' Utters, BELTONES and The Bodies are tops for me.

Lots of rad nights at the Trocadero, Purple Onion and Cocodrie...we had it good in SF back then.

Those Unknown had an excellent album, too.

...and I have to say that the Dropkicks did come on hella strong at least. For me though, it was over by the time the LP was out. Those early singles are un-fuckwithable, though.

Oh and any nay-sayers, punk purists and old farts (Neil, clay), feel free to shit on this thread and tell us how lame/late/uncool we are. Really!!!

Bodies, Beltones, Reducers SF, Ducky Boys... Lots of good bands around that time. Those cheap TKO samplers were chock full of good shit.

SIXER!
Of course the Beltones (Bill lives in Austin and has played some shows with a whole new line up! I've yet to see it tho and don't know if it will stick )
Streetdogs,Briggs,One Man Army.
Anyone here ever heard of a band called the Vigilantes?
There have prob been a few, but the ones I'm talking about did some of the best "If the Misfits were a Streetpunk band" kinda thing.
They put out two short records and then disapeared...

Here's one

I'd say the Distillers and Lars and the Bastards are along these lines but maybe a little to new for this thread?

beltones were great as were the Workin' Stiffs. Bonecrusher, Pinkerton Thugs, Hudson Falcons, and of course the Anti-Heros.

"they said that we were trash well the name is crass not clash
they can stuff their punk credentials cause it's them that take the cash
they won't change nothing with their fashionable talk
their rar badges and their protest walk"

I was lucky enough to have my best friend in one of the best streetpunk bands of the mid-90's until 2004.

Terminus City from Atlanta, GA.

If you don't have their album "Justice Isn't Always Fair" (TKO) or their "Stand as One" split CD with No Holds Barred, I recommend both of them. They also have some outstanding singles.

My other favorites.

Oxymoron (Germany)
Main Street Saints (Kansas)
Tommy and the Terrors (Boston)
Bruisers (Boston)
Skint (N. Ireland)
On File (N. Ireland)
Reducers SF
Adolf and the Piss Artists (Atlanta, GA)

The Beltones are one of the best bands of the genre. You should also check out Bill's side project, The Pink Panzer. It's a hysterical parody of Skrewdriver. All of the songs are about being gay and white.

Swingin Utters are really good. But I dig anything with an Irish sound.
