West side highway will have some new concrete !!!
According to my source this will be starting this spring. Site Design did the design and apparently they will be doing the work. The amoeba bowl will be 9' deep. |

Bill,
I think this concrete park is to replace the Heliport park currently on the west side. The Heliport park was always supposed to be temperary.
Any way that is geat news!! Looks like a real nice park. |

i don't think theres enough room for what i'm seeing at the heliport park?
theres been talk over the last couple of years of the city building a park way uptown in the washington heights area. i don't know whats come of it but i keep hearing the rumors. can anyone confirm if its true? |

It wasn't meant to go in the same spot as the heliport park. It was meant to replace the heliport park. Once that cement park gets finished, I think they mean to tear down the heliport park. I was talking with a local skater and thats what he told me. The heliport park was to be a temperarry park replacing one at Chelsi Pears to last temperarly until some permament cement park got built. He sounded like he new what he was talking about.
I knowmy spelling sucks.
