i judged a chili contest with my dad a few years ago and while the "hot" ones were more mild than the mild ones they on a whole werent bad.. none really stood out.. in a good way at least.
the one i remember the most which is burned into my taste memory banks is this one chili made with salmon.
i hate fish.. but even if you like fish, smoked salmon has a very distinct smell and flavor. one of which does not belong in a pot with beans and chili powder.
anyone got any good chili recipes? or horror stories like this? |

Do a search--lots of good chili recipes shared in the past. In fact, we had THM's chocolate turkey chili for dinner tonight. Yummy. |
