I'm hearing from a few folks that the bikers had a seat at the table and got shut out at the 11th hour. The rec director called this AM asking what he should do, that the bikers were "coming to the meeting" this wednesday, and that some emails he's getting from bikers are refer to me as a Nazi. So Jay let that be proof that I have your back.
BUT
If the bikers got stabbed in the back then Bristol fucked up and should let them in, except for the bowl. And make good with them by building a bike specific feature ... because part of my problem, politically, is that kids are safer in a skatepark with bikes than they are on the sreet.
I told the Rec director that dropped bikes in a 9' deep bowl will end up ruining the surface, not just the coping. He seemed to concur that the bowl would be off limits to the bikes. Whatever happens I smell a compromise.
If you're looking for a silver lining, remember (1) that for most of us, this was a 'fell out of the sky" skatepark (2) it will likely be a skate-only bowl, and (3) Fairfield will NOT have this problem because I've been involved in the political process and can see for myself who is at the table and they're all skaters. |

I forgot about the deathbox. I kept forgetting about it all day, actually. You'd think after taking a hit like that first one I'd learn quickly...
It was great seeing everyone, it's been a long while since this many people came out of the woodwork! |

BBB- You get newspaper credit for the pic? You might have found a new calling - not sure how to monetize it, but your getting a photo style together - good stuff |

I was wondering why you were sitting on them. Hopefully we'll all get to see them in the next issue of Juice and/or in a Wounded Knee ad! |
