Here too. Long/speed/downhill is a side line for all the shops. There was a shop in North Van that specialized but they folded. Not sure if it was the lack of customers or the failed mini skatepark in the back. There are tons of longboarders in Van, pretty serious to weekend cruisers.
Seems like someone could make a go of it. |

We still get the " I hate longboarders" around here, but it is really widely accepted. We even have several events each year which take over the streets. These 50mm riding, tight girl pant wearing skaters need to ride a board that does 60 - 70 km/h and their tune will change. |

Or they could just move to San Francisco where the local street skaters do go those speeds on their regular street boards! |
