i just spoke with them.
a box of sample pieces is on the way.

after i test them to figure out which we used we will get
a small run of material in here to make some test boards.

there were a few different styles,
the white base stock, and clear stock.
then in each they had a high gloss and a matte finish.
also thicker and thinner sheets.

we used the thicker matte finish white.

she said prices have gone way up since 20 years ago.
i cant get a price until we decide on material.

it used to cost more than $5 just to print out the transfer,
but with ink jet printing that price should be less.

You just seriously made my day! I was a little worried that it was going to be a lost cause. I really want to do an old 90's style football-ish shape slick. I have lots of ideas for graphics. If I shoot you a PM with my email address could you let me know more info as it becomes available or would you rather just keep this thread alive with updates? Either way thanks for the information and looking into this so much!!

when we did this before, i only sublimated the slicks and some veneer.
then i sent them off to a woodshop to have pressed.

so i have to do some testing to see how well
the glue bonds the slick to the wood.

that was my only issue back then, one of the woodshops
did a super good job, the other had some peeling issues.

glue is much better these days so it should be ok.

"To each their own"

There may not be a huge market for slicks but this messageboard is a testament that there are people out there that still want them for riding as well as collecting. I'm not saying that I'm going to be placing orders for thousands of slick decks, but small runs of cool shapes with sick graphics, hells yeah I think there's people out there that will be into them.

i finally got pricing.
they want to charge 9.43 per deck size piece,
for sample run sizes, 100 minimum.
after shipping it is over a $ 1000.00 investment.
if i order in the 1000 piece quantity,
price drops to 4.27 each.
