PV reopened for limited hours a couple weeks ago (PV is on 40th street just north of Bell Rd).
Hours are currently 2:30 pm until 07:00 pm Monday - Friday, and Saturday 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Closed on Sunday.
We are pushing hard to get the hours expanded so the park is open during the mornings while kids are in school, but so far they refuse because of the kids skipping class to skate (PV High school is next door).
Sunday hours are pending funding of the community center (buget cuts closed that on Sunday's last year, and they will not open the park on Sunday until the Community center is staffed on Sunday's again - maybe in a couple months).
To use the park now, you have to fill out a form and registar at the community center where they issue you an id. You have to hand over this Id to the gate keeper when entering the park.
But at least it's open again!
And us local old farts are keeping the preasure up to expand the hours back again to 0800-1000 like they used to be...

I cheked the pictures I have online and none show a good shot of the park, only lame shots of my pathetic skills.
Here is a link with some shots from CD: http://www.concretedisciples.com/skateparksdb/skateparks_display.php?id=579
What part of the valley will you be staying in? Any idea?
Phoenix has some killer parks. Tempe, Goodyear, the new Glendale park that just opened a couple of weeks ago. Peoria is killer. Chandler/Gilbert parks are both pretty good. |

Looks like I might be hitting PHX on my way back from Texas. Not sure what part of PHX I'll be in. |
