this is my personal press. 4 color 1 station...nothing special. Its great for 1 color but for 2+ its a pain. You cannot extend or retract the head for registration. I can only move the screen side to side...lining up a multi color design is a real task, I try to get things as close as possible b4 exposing.
I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out a way to modify it sp I could move the screen in and out. I was thinking of attaching some side arms to hold the screen on the sides not the top.
Thanks for any ideas. |

*end clamps(as opposed to side clamps)are a pain in the ass to work with but..your press doesnt allow for micro adjustments anyways so somehow rigging up side clamps on that press wouldnt really help your situation.
[i use a 6-color Chameleon at work that originally came with end clamps and it was a pain in the ass even with micro adjust to hold registration..we ended up getting sideclamps..as i recall it wasnt cheap]
*as far as burning your screens/lining up your art onto your screens in the exact same place would be your best bet at making it easier to register your screens.
*i use a "screen burning guide" to line up/center my art on my screens and to get the art/logo the same distance down from the edge of the screen.
*it is basically just a clear piece of film with lines printed onto it giving me "center line" and "edge of screen" lines..you could make your own to suit your own screens for cheap...after you line up where you want your art to be...tape your art to the back of your unexposed screen with some clear tape.
*beyond this, you'll just have to try to register your screens as close as you can. |
