I posted here somewhere about our ski/snowboard condo we bought in Mammoth. Well, two months later, it looks like our condo is finally able to be lived in! I have been powering up there almost weekly (late Friday nights and coming home Sunday nights which is a 4.5 hour drive from Northern LA County). By my count, I have done 6 weekends in the past two months!
So, here's the list of projects we took on since the purchase:
-Replaced the tile with an industrial-grade laminate floor
-Replaced the carpet upstairs
-Painted all walls
-Installed new baseboard throughout
-Replaced all kitchen cabinets and countertops
-Plumbed sinks and disposal
-Replaced toilet
-Installed new bathroom vanity and granite sink
-Removed wall seperating bath vanity and shower room
-Installed new door outside bathroom
-Replaced all light fixtues
...and on and on and on
I still have to put some trim pieces on the cabinets (kickplates, scribe moulding, etc.), put up the bathroom mirror, and fill in some drywall holes. But, the next trip up there will FINALLY be one where I can enjoy it up there! It's been all work so far. By the way, for what few times I've been able to get out over the past couple of months (multiple trips to Do-It Center come to mind!), it is absolutely awesome during summer!
Here's a few before and after pics. The place was in seriously poor shape when we bought it and have now managed to really make it ours. Let me know what you all think. Can't wait for winter.
Hey Yosh-we gots to hook up this winter. I'd love to see you shred that mofo!

Not sure but they'll fit someone in that pic
If you want you can pick'em up & check'em out? You down the street in Pedro right? |

sick, you're living my dream!
There is no better place in North America to be after a foot of new snow.
Funny, I live in a sweet mountain town in Oregon and my pass gets me into Alpine Meadows as well due to both resorts being owned by powder corp. I still make the effort to get to mammoth whenever possible. |

Thanks for the props. I fully agree about fresh snow at Mammoth is also my absolute fave.
By the way, does this mean my Mammoth pass gets me into Alpine Meadows? I heard that I could get tic at Whistler, but I didn't look to see if there are more.
Lemme know |

Nay, Mammoth is not owned by Powder Corp....and PC just sold Alpine Meadows to a private company so I am assed out on the pass this season. Looks like I will be heading to Mammoth for my Cali trips.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted, Alpine is a really fun mountain but it ain't Mammoth. |
