A shot in the dark, however I'm looking for the Thrasher SkateRock video andone have an original or a good copy? I think this came out around 1983-1984.

I have an original copy of the Thrasher Skate Rock video _A Blast from the Past and Present_. It was released in 1986, and has been reissued as a bonus to Thrasher's new DVD _Playing in Traffic_, though for some reason, the digital version is missing about 3 minutes of footage.

Skate and Destroy,
Jeff Lunz.

Now that I have more closely compared my original copies of both formats of the Thrasher skate rock video _A Blast from the Past and Present_, I realize that the one on DVD is almost 7 minutes shorter than the other on VHS.

I have an assessment of not all the VHS footage missing from the DVD, but just some of it, instead. I know, and knew after my initial viewing of the DVD, that it leaves out a few minutes of footage from a skate session at Derby (which is documented in _Future Primitive_). Other than that abandon footage and the song that goes with it ("The Kids Don't Skate Here" by Minus One), I do not know what else is missing. I suspect the DVD has clips missing here and there throughout the video, and I see no reason for omitting any footage in the first place.

I am tempted to bootleg my VHS copy to spite the editor(s) responsible for shortening this video onto DVD. Supposing it were possible, would any of us edit our national constitution and thus rewrite it? Although this question may offer an unfair example and unequal comparison, the skate rock video is a sacred text in its own right.

On both formats of the video, the footage of and with the Drunken Injuns looks identical, and according to my stopwatch, it is the same length.

Skate and Create,
and Preserve,
Jeff Lunz.

Thank you all for the info on video, is anyone willing to part with their original copy or at least negotiate a high quality copy for a copy of another video?

They shortened it so it would all fit on a single sided/single layered DVD.

It would have boosted the cost more than they would have liked to pay to put the whole thing on.
