okay...so im kinda [read very] new to this whole longboarding thing, i skated for a little while a few years ago but fell outta it. i recently decided to tackle the large task of building my own longboard with a press. all i really wanna do with it is cruse around. plain and simple. no bombing runs or carving or anything like that, well, at least for now. so what i have in mind is a really fat cruser...heres my ideas, if anyone could tell me that im way outta my league for this or its just way too big that would be appreciated.

aprox. 4 1/2 feet long and 15 inches at the widest point

independent 215mm trucks

and im thinking about really soft 80mm wheels

and yea...thats about all i have right now.

so is it too big? or about average or a real anomoly? i was also thinking about giving it a slight concave and that upward curve thingy...cant remember what its called right now...so um...yea...what do you guys think?

If you're looking for something that big then get this. http://www.bulldogskates.com/boards_44lb.htm

Abec 11 Gumballs 76mm 78a you can go softer.

Indy 215s will work just fine.

Some of Rons bearings

well with that width and 80mm wheels, unless you riser the heck out of it your gonna get wheel bite.

As for width is 15" really necessary, i find that 10.5" is the widest i would go, but then again thats personal preference, i find anything wider coupled with flex and hard carving and you will be scrapping the ground during those hard carves.

as for the word your looking for i presume you mean rocker (center of the deck is lower than the tips) camber is the opposite of that an is what most board have.

But honestly give it a go, if you think it will work, its all about experimentation and finding what works for you.

WHats the fucking point?

you want a 15" wide 5 ft long Tank that your gonna use to push around on flat ground?

The Indy' 215's are great but if your buying new think twice and look for Vintage

80's are not the wheel size to push anywhere especially coupled w risers you would have to bend dopwn so far to push

If your not going to ride hills why the hell do you want a longboard?

and if your gonna ride hills why the hell would you want a longboard like that?

44's are a nice size to start on you can walk around on em and get the feel for em

good luck and all

Fuck...I don't even know. I've got two, and I ride them too much to measure them.

Louis makes some tasty sticks for sure.

so what would be the diff between having a flat board, one with just concave and a board with concave and camber? how diff are they gonna ride? and yes, im trimming a few inches off the width.

gop - do you live in san antonio too??

buckethead - they look to be about 8-10 inches but that could be way off

kidson - any ideas where i would find vintage "stuff"??

loki - yes camber was the word thanks

I'm in Lovely Metropolis of Morgan's Point Resort, Tx. snuggly nestled between Fabulous Temple, Tx., and Beautiful Belton, Tx.

There's a lot of SA boys out there.

Go to www.bonelessone.com big SA locals membership.
