This is my VERY 1st post in this section. Here's my story...
I recently moved and my wife's relocation package included having a crew of people come to my house, pack our stuff, and move it.
One of my biggest concerns was moving my deck collection. I knew I had a lot but I never kept track of just how many. I made it VERY clear to them that they better not screw up ANY of my stuff. It took this old guy named Howard nearly 10 hours to pack each deck individually and box them up. Worst part is that they had to send a second truck just for the skateboard boxes. They wouldn't fit on the semi.
So once it came time to sign off on the inventory sheet my wife realized that they had estimated packing just a little over 1000 skateboards. Needless to say she just about ready to KILL ME! I think the number is way high but I don't know for sure. She knows I buy some, sell some, and collect and that I have a lot of stuff but that number was just too much for her. The cat's out of the bag and she's onto my buying. Once our new house is finished being built and I get my stuff out of storage I have a feeling that there may be a fire sale in the future.

I'm moving next week and packed my decks last week. I have a small collection of 28 decks that I had to wrap and get ready; I'm not having the movers touch them (moving them in the back of the explorer).
I think you have a problem. Does Dr. Phil have a special for obsessive skateboard collectors? |

You're not sure how many you have? Do you have home owners or renters insurance? You need a count of your stock, and probably a phote of each and a fair market value. One fire or flood and you're out a piece of change. Not to mention what happens if the moving company loses some. |

this might work for you. i realize that your situation is not exactly the same, but if you consider your skateboards collecting a vice, perhaps you can put out an want ad and let your wife vent as necessary.

WOAH! That's incredible!
At least they're ready to ship if you decide to sell some.
Is each package labeled with the deck inside? |

you should have marked each packaged deck as to which one it was on the outside, and leave them boxed..........
I never have more than two dozen boards at any given time, I got no space.... moving soon, so maybe I'll keep more ( I keep most boards as completes)
as soon as i have too many, I put some up for sale on the bay, except for a few I probably won't ever sell unless I'm desperate for cash ( which has happened before) |
