Ok...come up with some good recipes using black eyed peas! Don't know if it is just a Southern thing, but you are suppose to eat black eyed peas on New Years Day to bring you good luck for the whole year. I am tired of eating them plain though....any help?!?!? |

Never tried this but I imagen they are good with Balsamic Vinegar, Parmesan Cheese, a little Cayenne Pepper and Guacamole.
Try it and let me know

You need to pour them over some of the Jiffy sweet cornbread, add a little hot sauce, and you're good to go. |

The Wife and my Mother-In-Law made a mess of them.
Looks like I missed out of that good luck, as I smoked 10 pounds of boston butt and ate a few pounds... burp... and forgot about the peas.
I will prolly eat some in the morning...
What I like, is adding Extra Hot Chow-Chow to the mix.
Cali Boy, doing it a long time before I hit Lower Alabama. |

My wife makes them every year, just soaks them overnight then into the crockpot with either a ham hock or a veal shank and seasonings. This year the gas was unbearable, floated the sheets all night long! |
