Part time people?
Full time people?
What part of the country is your shop in?
Also, how many people do you employ? |

I suspect that that's not only illegal, but that your shop won't be around long. Work for their discount?!! They work for you and you still make a profit off them? Pretty lame, noob. |

I have a couple guys on the team that work for free because they want to see the shop survive. One of the guys wont even use his team discount when he buys stuff. He just wants to see the shop keep going. Pretty cool.
I have one guy that I pay in product from the shop. I also have my kid working there so its pretty cheap. |

I work for free. I kept my day job so I could push all the money back into the business to make it profitable in the first year. I also have one full-time employee. A college student who is a steal at $8 an hour. His pay scale will grow as the monthly sales average grows. He handles the day to day stuff while I'm at my day job. I come in the early mornings and then evenings to take care of the business side and do orders, ect. Works for us. |

Good idea....I have a couple of younger dudes, ages between 19-25, that are going to work for free as long as they get to have an outlet for their creative stuff (tshirts and hoodies) and have a scene ( a place to hang out). I hope they step up when we start setting hours. Right now I am gutting the place and getting the accounts open and nailing down the store design.

watch what you pay them. after a while the burn-out sets in and they realize they are tired of working for shit wages.
product and cash start walking out the back door.
if you can't afford to pay them, work the hours yourself.
with that being said....i only hire hot young girls to work the park/shop. it brings the boys in and they spend like crazy trying to impress the chicks.
the team and friends are always there to watch over them and help out if needed. |
