Hey guys does anyone have info on Seaflex? I always dug the Boomcat, even bought one but let it go...they also did one or two Denike models, and some surf-inspired pigs.
Anyway, I'm just curious...who was behind the company and where were they out of? Some clues in case no one knows off the bat....
The top of my Boomcat said "Mark Edwards Design" and the graphics were my Mark Mahoney (I think, the script was blurry), which is also the name of a veteran SoCal tattooer...
As far as location, the top also lists "Dogtown, CA 94924". I looked up the zip, and it is actually a tiny town north of SF that is really named "Dogtown"....maybe just a joke, since I had assumed it was a SM/Venice zip..
Well any info would be appreciated.
All the best - Joel |

Spyhill may be able to help however I don't know if he posts here too much these days. He sold a couple not too long ago. May want to try contacting him through his site. www.spyhillskates.com |

It all happened after I went into seclusion.
Sorry. I know Bob Denike is a lurker here. Maybe he can chime in. |

Hi Guys, Seaflex was from the folks that started Smoothill Sports which is a distributer in San Rafael California. Buzz and Dan were their names and they were a trip. They also did some of the first 2 tone wheels by dipping them in black ink with a dowell through the center.
I went on a road trip back in the late 70s and there they were sitting on lawn chairs with a reefer fully stocked with beer waiting for the phone to ring. They sold the business many years ago.
Shit I'm getting old just thinking how long ago that was, hope this helps and I'm 99% sure on this one, Howard |
