the kind of guys who eat salads that don't contain mayo or creamy dressings probably don't go to that forum too much.

i had to choose between a low fat diet and giving up drinking.

i chose the low fat diet / dont eat a lot just so i could drink my beer AND manage my waistline. im not even fat but i dont want to get fat and im slowing down every year closer to 40 so i thought i would head it off at the pass.

can anybody say meetings?

im finding that i catually like the healthy food. it changed my ways as a gourmet chef but hey.....i have discovered a whole new world. im going to start going exclusively organic/locally grown fresh foods only as soon as i find all my sources.

does anybody else here live a grocery-store-free life? and not live in a major metro area on a coast?

My wife and I wrote life insurance policies a few months ago and I had to give up both fatty foods and beer. We ate a ton of salads and vegetable stir fry while throwing in the occasional grilled chicken bits. I lost 20 pounds in about 2 months and I felt a ton better. I have more energy and fewer back problems and I've managed to keep the weight off for a few months now. A quick lifestyle check every once in a while can work wonders for the body.

Beer is good!

Seriously, just have a good mix of feeding and everything is fine. Eat only, what "energy" your body does need.
A diet, that you do from one day to another is most times bad, beause your body gets vitamin deficiency.
A piece of pie sometimes, is also good. You always need a healthy sugar level for skating, or other efforts.
Just dont eat it every day or worst, drink coke everyday!

Eat meat, eat salad - fine. Just have a good mix of everything (same with noodles and other food).

For a salad, just use salt and pepper and a drop of a good cold pressed olive oil!
Never use those fat dressings you can buy in the store. You will only taste the flavor enhancer
from them and makes a salad unhealthy again!

When you have a good mix with fresh and healthy food, you will really notice it. Get a instant meal or
go to McDonalds (or other fast foods),
It all should taste synthetic (the food industry uses to much flavor enhancer) or, its just like, you chew a
paperboard (i got that from a hamburger )
