how tight should a board screen be? i tried printing a couple of boards, and the print was fine in the middle, but around the edges it seems like i have to put alot of pressure. then the ink would smear a little on the far edges, or it wouldn't print at all. i stretched it as tight as i could by hand. |

you dont want your stencil to close to the edges for that reason..
bigger screees dont have problems like this, its when you start printing larger designs on smaller screens that you'll see this.
I use an semiauto press at work now so it's easy to adjust these things |

Ok guys here is some FREE info......
For flat screen printing between the trucks, you want a screen stretched at 15-10 newtons.
You can call Creative Screen Technologies and get one stretched "skateboard" loose. They will know what to do. |

i figured a 20" wide screen would be wide enough for a 7.625 board before i made the frame, but once i got the stencil on there it did seem to take up alot of space. next time i'll go wider, or make a smaller stencil. on the other hand, my shirts look ok. |

subtract 4" on each side of the screen, and 6" at each end and that should give you the maximum useable area for that screen. To determin that size needed for a curved deck would take some crazy algebra/geometry math so my best anwser is 30"x40" if you are getting a flat screen. |
