As I was flipping channels last night, caught a show on the Food network about the Garlic Cook-off contest. It reminded me of one of my most memorable and favorite restaurants in my years of traveling.....the Stinking Rose (http://www.thestinkingrose.com/) in San Fran. AWESOME food! And all of it heavily garlic'd....in fact , the brought some kind of sauted garlic to the table to munch on before the meal (like bread at most places). Anyways, I love garlic, so I was wondering.....anyone got some good garlic recipes?
edit: some good recipes on the Stinking Rose site: http://www.thestinkingrose.com/recipies.htm
Also, our whole project team ate at the Stinking Rose one night....the next day the project "war room" smelled to high heaven. ick! Everyone knew what "it" was but wouldn't say....everyone just grinned. haha |

No garlic recipies per se; however, when I cook I always use liberal amounts of garlic (except on brats and pre-packaged burgers). |

When I think of garlic, I think of the rolls at Bob Chinn's in Wheeling, IL. Those little bastards are swimming in garlic butter. Stinky but good. |

Costco garlic bread.
I usually just slice off the end, cover in olive oil and clay pot the suckers for a hefty stash.
Buca de Bepo is a good liberal garlic feast...love walking in to the intense garlic smell. |

My wife's Romanian, she does this simple garlic sauce thing:
Bake a bunch of potatoes
crush a whole garlic
mix with some oil and salt
drizzle over the potatoes
eat
brush your teeth
eat a mint or ten
brush your teeth again! |

Coffee and Cigarettes for me...save the mints.
Man garlic can really "get" some people too. My co-worker stinks from 10 feet away...straight up garlic from the night before. Pretty comedic.
Nothing like my old curry apartment neighbors...holy shit the smell came through the walls. |
