Seems to me that somebody might be fucking with 'em, like when grunge hit big and the Sub Pop guys made up a bunch of phony slang for some clueless reporter's humiliation. I also heard about Timothy Leary doing something similar to the FBI concerning drug slang.

The only misinformation that I see is the mullet statement. They are, unfortunately, alive and well. |

Snowboarders,... although rich spoiled brats, and genuinly afraid of any wave over 6', and concrete over 4, can prove themselves to be totally useless in today's society.

Now I can't go badmouthing snowboarding because I'd likely end up with a few less friends, but what kills me about that article is the brief mention of skateboarding's influence. They actually had enough breath left in the sentence to toss in surfing, punk, and rap music. Ha! Yeah, go for the gold! Bro-brah, sis-boom-bah! We're all so FUCKING proud of you! |

Hey now c'mon I do a little snowboarding in the winter, but shit what else is there to do in oregon when you live 30 minutes from Mt.Hood and its usually raining in Portland and the outer areas. And yes most of these snooty little fuckers are rich brats, who get a new set-up and gear every fucking season.I laugh when I'm shooting down the Mountain past some of these pricks who talk like Hip Hop Surfers from Suburbia and have $300.00 pants and Gold plated boots and a board that could pay for a term at a small community college if they were to sell it. I paid $65.00 for my board and bindings used from a buddy, and I don't wear Special Blend clothing either,Skateboarding to me though is far superior especially on an old school deck. That has style. That says something.Theres always gonna be these rich fuckers taking over everything, and why? Cause they can afford to.Do you think that their lingo will ever be taught in schools, maybe it'll be dubbed "snowbonics".Yo would that be tight or dope bra? |

Fuck, the rich have taken over skateboarding as well. Although I hate to admit it. It makes me fucking sick to my stomach to see worthless to society, soccer mom housewives - actually approving of skateboarding for their kids. I guess skateboarding is fucking cool to the rich now because it's on a goddamned Wheaties box. And don't even get me started about rap in skateboarding.....Luckily, there will always be midnight, there will always be curbs, and there will always be me, riding in the middle of the night, by myself. The way it's meant to be..... |

I'm with you on that, curbdog. Some of those soccer moms can be pretty hot, though!
Seriously, I have some friends who are avid snowboarders who would tell you the same thing. Rich kids have a knack of ruining everything they "discover". Sooner than later something bigger and better will come along, and they'll stick the snowboards in the closet along with their bowling balls, pogo sticks, and whatever else they don't know they own.
Speaking of pogo sticks, have any of you seen the first Girl Skateboards video "Goldfish"? Lance Mountain's little part just about says it all.
"Man, sticking's lame." |
