As part of my ongoing commitment to integrity I finally let a magazine publish my work with special conditions. These were I pick the font Rockwell or Arial only, no interview, no contact info or email even and absolutely no pictures of skateboards though they had to use the title "skateboard artist". I had to have them pull my name off the cover as a featured artist at the last minute.
I thought it was funny.
I'm just want to do my own thing.

Great job!! Maybe I'm stupid for askin this BUT... Why are you so hell bent against bettering yourself? You always tell tales of not eating, no money, etc. But you try your hardest not to move forward, (ex. Not putting your name or contact info in the article or doing interview). I'm sure with your artistic talent, you could've easily had a job at one of the many Skate companies art dept years ago. Maybe being that I'm no artist I don't "understand". Now myself, at the end of the day I'd rather be eating a cheeseburger from working at S/C, then starving working for myself.
P.S. If no one likes my grammar, you can kiss my lap lizard!  |

I am often broke because I spend exuberantly on wood, new paints, new systems and expend lavishly on experimenting with new techniques and methods of printing.
I work regardless of a reward and praise, ego worship and actually giving a fuck.
The only thing that matters is the work and the few that seek it out and or let me come into their houses and for that honor I don't seek ego fanning worship from a magazine.

That's funny, when I was giving my anti interview I was wearing a frilled shirt, sitting at my settee and penning the responses in a turkey quill with ink from Angkor Wat as to my grand design of "art".
Did I mention I'd just finished an authoritative concerto on my harpsichord when this happened?
Actual painting I commissioned of the event.
