Sector 9 wedges back/front.
Loved them 70s Rad Pads... Like these just as well. |

I ride 3/8" with indy 169 and gravity "comp" 64 mm wheels on a caballero re-issue ...
On my other ride it's 1/16" urethane risers with BDS dub-cons 64 mm with tracker B2 trucks .... but the board has big cut-outs (DREGS biker sherlock)
And i like to be as low as possible ... |

For me risers are more about ollies than wheel bite. If the deck is too low, I can't ollie very high - not enough distance between tail and ground to get a good 'snap'. If the board's too high, the ollie pop seems to loose its momentum. My street deck normally has 1/8 - 1/4 risers. |

3/8" (a 1/4" riser and an 1/8" riser) I ride 63s and still get wheel bite but I can't stand the 1/2" lift kits. |

I use the 1/8" soft risers. I ride 60mm wheels. I see some wheel bite marks on my board, but have never noticed it riding. I don't like the jacked up feel of tall risers. |

the amount of concave and presence/lack of wheel wells is going to make a differences:
3/8 or 1/2 with 63mm shitfires on an afroman with plenty of concave
1/2 with 65mm old schoolz (on a flat inouye street cruiser)
1/4 with 56mm oj3s and indys on a santa cruz vet div. deck
1/4 with 57mm grimeballs on a black label hensley
1/8 with 56mm powell 90a and thunders on a minilogo popsicle
I'm with Slob-Air though: if you go fast, you don't really feel the wheels rubbing. I get marks all the time but don't notice it while riding. Though I think it may happen more on bails (like a smith grind that got a little out of control) anyway. |
