Ok, I know you guys have answered some questions about screen printing with white ink on black tees, and you say to ink, flash, ink, cure, but I am very, very new to this and i do not really understand what flashing means? I currently don't have a Flash dryer just a handheld dryer gun. How should I go about doing this?
Also do you have to remove the shirt from the screen press to flash? If so how do you put it back on the press and screen the image the exact same way in the exact same spot? Thanks in advance for all your help. |

Ok,
I am going to go through a basic process.
First register the shirt, use adheasive if you have it, if not stretch the material tight on your surface.
Have your heat gun plugged in and if needed running.
Flood your screen, print 1 pass, lift the screen, flood the screen again.
Quickly heat the ink printed on the shirt with your gun. It will only take a couple of seconds to become tacky enough to not stick to the screen.
Then apply the screen again and print over the same image.
Lift the screen and flood again if needed.
Heat the shirt in place for the final flash or remove it and place a new shirt in your press.
What you should end up with is a solid, clear print. It should not be transparent.
It is important that the last flash is done well and the ink dries properly.
This can be tricky, with practice you'll get good.
Try nazdar 9500 its pretty good stuff. |

Flooding or "Flood coat"
just means you put ink on the screen with your squeegy, filling the screen with ink to print on your surface.
Light even pressure with a vertical squeegy is best.
Look it up on google. |
