firstly, Hi. I'm new here... jedi_deangelis turned me onto S&B... we're lookin' at putting out a short run of decks sometime in the future and I put up this site to show him how some of my illus would look on boards. We're looking to go another direction, but I wanted to get some feedback on what's up there...
We're thinking about Wendigo as a company name, but nothing's set in stone... any and all critiques would be appreciated!

cool logo. so a wendigo is like the canadian saskwatch?
i like the double yeti and the whale vs squid and the wendigo. how do you keep your illustrations looking so rough? do you just scan them in? |

Yeah... Wendigo is basically the same as Big Foot, Saskquatch, Yeti... whatever you wanna call him. It's the Canadian version. Apparantly you can become a Wendigo if you eat human flesh. It's all based on spooky scarey Native folklore.
I'm curious to see what other people think as well. I put up a post a while back about "what would you call your skateboard company". RIP came up with Wendigo. Pretty unique and has a Canadian edge to it.
I too like the double yeti deck but am wondering what other people think of the other stuff. I like the Squid vs Whale graphic as well.... but don't think it'll work as a skate graphic.
Any and all opinions would be appreciated. |

Wendigo is a Marvel character too.. Do you think you'd have problems with them?

| Yeah I saw that Marvel had a character from the Incredible Hulk called Wendigo. I don't think there'd be a problem. |

| I think the Strange Flight is the best too, though it needs more work. The skull stuff is lame. The ninja graphic is lame. The rest are kind of okay. My honest opinion is that you need to pick a style and work on it and I think it's a case of combining that illustrative style with the sharper edge of the more graphical stuff. |

He was part of a Canadian superhero team too (Alpha Flight?).. They had their own book and were in the X-men comics.

Keep 'em coming. Remember though that these are totally just mockups. The ninja one in particular I think was "I already have this sketch, lets see what it'd look like on a skateboard stencil".
We've already decided we need to go in a more graphic direction rather than the "fine art" direction.
If anybody has any graphics that they'd like to submit we'd be more than open to stuff. |

| Wendigo is a part of native history, and as such, marvel dosen`t have any copyrights to it, so long as there`s no similarity beween your charector, from what i can see, there isn`t....And yeah, the wendigo is a curse for those that eat human flesh... |
